Curtain –Up on new theatrical costume store
14/05/2010
The Curtain has officially gone up on Theatrical Costume Hire, which was launched last Friday 14 May in the WIN Business Park, Newry. Set against a backdrop of mini-sets, a walk-through of costumes from musicals was staged, alongside a vast array of outfits depicting the changes of historical fashion from medieval to the present day.
Performing the honours at a special reception was actor, author and broadcaster, Ivan Little, best known as a UTV news reporter and more recently for his outstanding stage role in “The History of the Troubles According to my Da.”
And it really was ‘curtain-up’ at the launch when Ivan unveiled a specially commissioned plaque marking his attendance at this important event.
He said;
“This is a tremendous business, which deserves the success it has achieved. I was taken aback by the high quality costumes, as well as the level of dedication and determination shown by this dynamic company. They have taken an idea, made it real and nurtured it to the point of diversification, whist maintaining a strong commitment to delivery and indeed, the customer. It has been my pleasure to be part of this launch. To use a phrase synonymous with me, the success of this business has been phenomenal!”
‘Theatrical Costume Hire’ is a family owned business based in Newry. The business is part of ‘The Costume Corner Hire’ which was established in 2007 and grew from ‘The Costume Corner Ltd’ which since 2005 has been meeting the needs of the fancy dress party goer throughout Ireland.

“Ingrid and the girls provided costumes for us and couldn't have been more polite, helpful and professional especially during the shoot and we can't praise them more highly. Their costumes were fantastic and they had a huge range for us to choose from.”
Co-Director Glenda, said, “We are keen to build upon the success to date with the launch of the new branding for this exciting business. During the last number of years we have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to provide a superb all-round package to amateur societies, councils, businesses, government agencies, schools, colleges, universities, corporate clients, festivals, charities, sporting organisations, photographers, PR and marketing agencies and more recently TV and Film production companies.”
